According to the calculation of ownership of goods:
Direct bill of lading (Straight B/L): On the original bill of lading, the name and address of the consignee will be clearly indicated and the goods will only be delivered to the designated consignee.
To order B/L: The back side of this original bill of lading will be endorsed
- To order of named person: In the column “Consignee” or “To order of” there will be information of the person, company, organization recorded and the goods will be delivered according to the order of that person, company or organization by they endorse on the back of the original bill of lading, and at the same time write the name of the consignee.
- To order of a issuing bank: Similar to "To order of a named person", however, the endorsement on the back of the original bill of lading is the bank.

Anonymous bill of lading (To bearer B/L): In the original bill of lading, the name of the consignee is not mentioned, so the goods will be delivered to the bearer of the anonymous bill of lading.
